Tonight, thousands of across the mid-Atlantic are picking up the pieces and assessing damage following a series of powerful storms overnight. At least two people were killed, one in Alabama and one in South Carolina.

Tonight, a rain-wrapped tornado reported on the ground near the Colorado-Kansas border. Tornado sirens warn residents to seek shelter. Storm chasers have reported damage to buildings. Powerful storms also continue to pummel the Northeast today with a tornado knocking down trees as it swept through Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. Two days of raging storms caused flooding across the state, making some roads impassable. On Monday, from New York to Tennessee, the force of mother nature was evident. The storm brought down trees and knocked out power for thousands around Knoxville, Tennessee, eye-opening scenes everywhere. Frighten drivers in Westminster, Maryland were caught in a dangerous thunderstorm Monday as winds up to eighty miles per hour knocked down powerlines like dominoes. Nearly fifty people were rescued from their cars. The wild weather brought airports across the east coast to a standstill.
